It will be interesting to hear the explanation for that decision to stop the City breakaway with just moments left in stoppage time.

This was the fury that met referee Simon Hooper when he opted not to play advantage when Jack Grealish was breaking free on goal during second-half stoppage time.

Grealish may have been offside, but given the current practice to wait to put the offside flag up until after attacks have played out, you can understand the City players’ anger.

Tottenham’s efforts to match Manchester City’s intensity were rewarded at the Etihad Stadium with a 3-3 draw by Ange Postecoglou’s team. Yves Bissouma’s terrible mistake appeared to have given City the lead, but Dejan Kulusevski’s incredible header off the crossbar in the dying seconds gave Spurs a point and ended their run of three straight Premier League losses.

Tottenham ended their losing run at the Etihad as a dramatic late header from Dejan Kulusevski secured a point in a frenetic 3-3 draw at the Etihad.

Kulusevski’s header salvaged a point after it looked like Spurs had thrown the game away. Minutes earlier, a mistake by Yves Bissouma had led to a goal by Jack Grealish that looked certain to hand victory to the home side.

In the second half Tottenham fought their way back into the game and deservedly pulled level through Giovanni Lo Celso. The two late goals followed and there was controversy in injury time, when Jack Grealish appeared to be through on goal but the game was stopped for an earlier foul on Erling Haaland.

Man City held the ball 58%, launching 14 shots compared to their opponent’s 5. They twice hit the post and crossbar of Tottenham’s goal in the first half. These misses made Pep Guardiola and his team pay the price. Because despite having little attack, Tottenham had the same number of shots on target as the home team (4). The team under Ange Postecoglou took full advantage of the opportunity, thereby causing Man City to experience their third consecutive draw in the Premier League.
